Maattrraan (Maatran)is a tamil movie from the director K.V. Anand after the success of Ayan and Ko. The movie will be scripted by Subha. K.V. Anand had decided to another film with Surya as the hero after the success of Ayan. Maattrraan (Maatran) Tamil Movie will be starring Surya as the lead role with Kajal Aggarwal as the heroine. The tamil movie was earlier titled Maatraan but later the title was changed to Maattrraan.

A dubbed telungu version will also be out on the release date of Maattrraan (Maatran) Tamil Movie. The film is produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram under the banner of AGS Entertainment and the distribution will be done by Eros International. The film was announced in July 22, 2011. The shooting of the film started soon after the hero Surya finished the shooting in the film 7aum Arivu. The first schedule of the movie was in Pakistan. Most portions of the movie were shot in Russia. Other portions were shot in Hyderabad in the sets of Ramoji Film City.

Kajal Aggarwal will be the heroine. Others in the cast are Vivek, Ravi Prakash, Sachin Khedekar, Irina Maleeva, Tara, Julia Bliss and Isha Sharvani.

The audio mixing for the movie was done in America and Maattrraan (Maatran) is going to be the first one to have this title. The audio rights of the film was acquired by Sony Music. The album launch was done in Singapore at Singapore Expo on August 9^th with Surya and Harris Jayaraj presenting the audio CDs to the invitees.
